BridgeWay Brewing Co. opened Dec. 22 at BridgeWay Station in Mauldin.
It is the first food and drink spot to open in the new development along Interstate 385.

The brewery itself is the brainchild of Michelle Dodge and Nate Tomforde, the latter familiar to many as the owner of Southernside Brewing Co. and founder of Crated Community Concepts. Together, the two brought forth a brewery that fills its over 6,000-square-foot space with eclectic touches.
Guests during the holidays will find two nutcrackers guarding the station entrance. Several brew tanks handle the lautering and sparging for the house-made beer. Adjacent to the tanks are four lanes of duck-pin bowling and a sprawling bar lined with high-top seating and televisions.
The pub has several beers on tap. The first made in-house is the Worth the Wait Winter Warmer, a malty beer that’s dark in color and perfect for cold winter nights. It includes flavors of cardamom, fig, and maybe even rosemary.
Beyond the brews, there’s a variety of fare, including turnbuckle pretzels, which one can only describe as doughy and delicious. The pretzels are accompanied by house-made beer cheese that complement the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls.
BridgeWay Brewing is located at 610 Bridgeway Blvd. in Mauldin.
