California-based VPET USA LLC announced Sept. 7 plans to invest $10.8 million to establish a PET plastic production facility in Spartanburg County and create 40 new jobs, according to the S.C. Department of Commerce.
Located at 861 Victor Hill Rd. in Greer, the facility will initially serve as a blow molding and injection molding operation to supply customers in the Southeast. VPET USA LLC produces wide mouth PET containers and bottles for the nutrition, food and beverage, personal care, pharmaceutical and health care industries.
The new South Carolina operation will join manufacturing facilities the company has in California, Illinois and Texas.
The S.C. Coordinating Council for Economic Development has awarded a $150,000 Set-Aside grant to Spartanburg County to assist with the costs of building improvements.
