The University of South Carolina Upstate held a groundbreaking ceremony in Spartanburg on Nov. 6 for the school’s newest housing development, Auden Upstate. The ceremony marked the start of construction for the 94,000 sq. ft., 480-bed private student dorm facility, developed by New York City-based DMG Investments.
The $28 million project will create nearly 100 construction jobs and boost revenue to local taxing jurisdictions, said Katherine Ross, marketing associate at DMG Investments. The project is also expected to help attract top faculty and student talent for USC Upstate.
Auden Upstate will feature seven, four-story buildings with fully furnished two, four and five unit bedrooms with individual bathrooms and will cater to students and young professionals, as it is located only a few blocks from USC Upstate. The apartment complex will feature amenities including a 24-hour gym, study rooms, resident lounge, basketball and volleyball courts, swimming pool, business center and concierge.
Pre-leasing for August 2020 has begun at Auden Upstate. For more information visit https://www.audenupstate.com/.
