MycoWorks, a biotechnology company specializing in producing materials that mimic animal leathers, announced Jan. 13 it will invest $107 million to establish operations at 260 Midway Drive in Union.
The investment is expected to create 400 jobs.
“Deciding where to lay down roots was a big decision, but the partnership offered by state and local officials in combination with access to talent and amenities in the area made it easy,” said MycoWorks chief operating officer Doug Hardesty. “We look forward to growing a world-class team and operation in Union County, South Carolina.”
MycoWorks expects operations to be online in early 2023. For more information about open positions, email talent@mycoworks.com.
