WOW! Internet, Cable & Phone, a broadband services provider based in Colorado, will invest more than $30 million to bring its fiber network to more than 28,000 homes in southern Greenville County, the company announced May 9.
This investment, which includes offering service to homes in Five Forks, Fountain Inn, Mauldin, Piedmont and Simpsonville, is part of WOW’s Greenfield expansion, a plan to extend its service area to 400,000 homes by 2027.
The total expansion investment is $400 million and will also expand to 180,000 homes in Florida’s Seminole and Orange counties.
“We’re excited about the momentum we’ve built in executing our Greenfield plan, leading to our decision to double our investment,” said WOW CEO Teresa Elder. “In addition to adding new communities, like those in Greenville County, we continue to identify and expand opportunities in our previously announced markets in Central Florida where we now expect to bring our blazing fast, multi-gig fiber network to 50,000 more homes.”
WOW! provides broadband services in 14 markets, primarily in the Midwest and Southeast, including Michigan, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida and Georgia.
