Local LGBT and allied-owned restaurants are invited to apply for the East Region NGLCC community impact grants.
Created in partnership with almost 55 affiliate chambers including the Upstate SC LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce, and the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce and Grubhub, the program plans to distribute $1.5 million in $5,000 to $25,000 grants to support LGBTQ+-owned and allied restaurants across the U.S.
“LGBT and allied owned restaurants are vital to the Upstate’s thriving restaurant scene and through Grubhub’s support, the Upstate SC LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce gave away $20,000 to three LGBTQ+ owned restaurants last year,” said Tyler Prescott, co-founder and president of the Upstate SC LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce. “We are delighted to support our local restaurant scene again in 2024.”
Applications will be received until May 21 and all applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be an LGBTQ+-owned or LGBTQ+ ally-owned restaurant, bar or cafe that serves food
- Provide proof that it is an LGBTQ+-owned or allied establishment
- Must not have received more than two NGLCC community impact grants in previous years
