Fifth Third Bank employees and executives gathered Jan. 17 to host a ribbon-cutting for its first Spartanburg branch.
Located at 1585 E. Main St., this branch features mobile bankers using technology throughout the lobby to assist customers, rather than having teller windows. The building also has flexible meeting and seating areas, with layers of privacy that can be adjusted depending on the client’s needs.
“This location is representative of our growth in the Carolinas and how we engage with our clients,” said Tommy Lloyd, senior vice president of Fifth Third Bank retail executive for the Carolinas. “The branch design focuses on an open environment equipped with the latest technology aimed at delivering personal customer service to provide the best experience and advice for our clients.”
Fifth Third Bank in Spartanburg is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday; and 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday.

As part of the location’s grand opening celebration, local and national bank representatives presented a $10,000 check to The Bethlehem Center Food Bank, a social services organization in Spartanburg.
