David Ward joined The Southern Bank as senior vice president of commercial lending for the Spartanburg branch, which is expected to open at the end of 2022 at 468 E. Main St.
Ward has 35 years of experience in business development, relationship cultivation, client retention, special assets, collections, and retail and commercial credit administration.
“We are proud to add David to the Spartanburg team,” said The Southern Bank President Scott Frierson. “His proficiency in building relationships and sustaining their business will only strengthen our bank’s ability to serve the Spartanburg community.”
Ward has served as a HALTER board member and treasurer, a FONRA board member and treasurer and a member of the Spartanburg Downtown Rotary Club.
Ward attended Wofford College, Wake Forest University, East Carolina University, Wachovia School of Commercial Lending and the Milliken & Co. Leadership Development Program.
