Google will name Greenville as South Carolina’s eCity on Friday at 1 p.m. during a community celebration at the Dark Corner Distillery.
The award recognizes Greenville as the strongest online business community in the state.
According to Google’s website, the economic impact of a city is calculated “by examining the economic value provided by Google Search and AdWords, Google AdSense, and Google Ad Grants in 2013.”
Mayor Knox White and Google’s Southeast public affairs manager Lilyn Hester will attend the announcement.
The winner of the last year’s eCity Award for South Carolina was North Myrtle Beach.
