Westinghouse Electric Company awarded Fluor Corporation two subcontracts to manage the construction workforce at two Westinghouse AP1000 nuclear power plant projects in Georgia and in South Carolina.
As a subcontractor to Westinghouse, Fluor will manage the majority of construction labor at Georgia Power’s Plant Vogtle Units 3 and 4 near Waynesboro, Ga., and at two additional nuclear electric generating units for SCANA/Santee Cooper at the V.C. Summer Nuclear Station in Fairfield County, S.C.
“We look forward to working with Westinghouse as one team to complete the construction of these two U.S. nuclear mega-projects,” said David Seaton, Fluor’s chairman and CEO. “These projects reconfirm our commitment to the nuclear power industry and are in line with our strategy to expand our construction footprint.”
