A new 62,000-square-foot senior living facility is headed for Boiling Springs.
Lakewood Senior Living will be constructed on 7.75-acres off Clark Road near Highway 9.
The facility will feature 66 rooms for residents, including 18 units for memory care and 48 units for assisted-living.
It will be operated by Charlotte, N.C.-based CR Senior Living LLC.
A company spokesman, who asked not to be identified, said the center will be the CR Senior Living’s first facility. The company plans to open more across the region.
He said he anticipates construction will start in September and the facility will be complete June 1, 2017.
It will create 30 to 40 new jobs he said.
“The demographics marry up to the aging population we see,” the spokesman said. “We thought through the facility very carefully. We’re very excited—ecstatic. It’s one of many we hope to open in the region.”

He said the facility will have several amenities for residents, including a public space for social gatherings.
The spokesman declined to comment on financial details of the project.
Lakewood Senior Living will be constructed across the street from Northpointe Village, a residential community planned on more than 60 acres at the intersection of Clark Road and Highway 9, just north of Boiling Springs proper.
Jennings Lyon, principal of Greenville-based LML Properties, Northpointe’s developer, said in March the community will include upscale apartments, patio homes, and spaces for restaurants, medical offices or retail and possibly an assisted-living facility.
