Asian-Southwest eatery TakoSushi opened its new location on April 2 across the street from Legacy Park in the Verdae neighborhood.
It is the second location in Greenville, with the first at 34 S. Main St.
The Verdae location is significantly larger than the original – roughly 2800 square feet with nearly 100 indoor seats. Co-owner and president of the Food People Restaurant Group, James Williams, said outside dining is planned in the near future.
The interior has a modern feel. Lined with tan-brown honey banquettes and teal booths, the tables themselves are darker, giving the space a contemporary atmosphere without losing the shades of blue and light brown indicative of cuisine and table wear.

For those who have yet to visit TakoSushi, the menu is multifaceted in consideration of its tagline: Far East Southwest. Taco or tako plates are available along with queso, guacamole and burritos. Still, there’s no shortage of sashimi, nigiri and makimono sushi options.

Williams noted the success of Stella’s Southern Brasserie across the street and Chestnut Coffee House & Local Market in the same plaza and is hoping this eclectic concept will add to the small but mighty portfolio of eateries in the area.
“Obviously just being in a neighborhood is very different than being on Main Street,” Williams said. “We’re hoping that this becomes a bit of a local watering hole. A place where people are comfortable bringing their kids and families coming to hang out.”
TakoSushi Verdae is located at 325 Rocky Slope Road.
