A North Carolina-based health care system recently purchased a $17.2 million property in Greenville to expand its footprint into the Upstate.
Novant Health bought 11.5 acres off Interstate 385 at the corner of Patewood Drive and Frontage Road. The site is located adjacent to Bon Secours St. Francis Eastside Hospital and the Prisma Health Patewood Hospital.
According to the Greenville County Register of Deeds, Novant Health bought the vacant property from SH Real Estate LLC in May. A Novant Health spokesperson shared the health care system purchased the property to further its “commitment to expanding access to high-quality, affordable care.”
“We look forward to working closely with local officials and community leaders to meet the unique needs of the Upstate region and build a healthier future together,” according to an email from the Novant Health spokesperson.
Novant Health operates more than 850 locations in North and South Carolina. In February, the company invested $2.4 billion to expand its presence in the Palmetto State by acquiring hospitals and medical clinics in Charleston, Hardeeville and Hilton Head.
Plans for the Greenville property have yet to be released by Novant Health.
