Greenville businessman will open Big Air Spartanburg in October at WestGate Crossing shopping center
A new indoor trampoline park will spring into Spartanburg’s west side this fall.
Greenville businessman Dustin Pelletier, franchise owner of Big Air Spartanburg, said he will open the 34,000-square-foot park in October in space formerly occupied by Toys “R” Us in the WestGate Crossing shopping center at 660 Spartan Blvd. behind WestGate Mall.
The park will generate about 50 jobs, including about 10 to 12 full-time positions.
“We are very excited,” Pelletier said. “We’re all about faith, family and fun. I can’t wait for everyone to see it. It’s going to be bright, colorful, clean and professional. I think it will bring so much to this side of town.”
Pelletier graduated from Wade Hampton High School in 1995. He attended college at Full Sail University in Orlando, where he earned a degree in audio engineering.
While in Orlando, he met his wife, Tabatha. After they were married, the couple decided to move back to Greenville in 2005 to raise a family.
Pelletier decided to go to work for his father, who owned Action Concrete Pumping.
In 2008, he bought the business and managed to grow the company despite recessionary headwinds that hit the construction industry in particular very hard.
Pelletier said he recently sold the company and became interested in pursuing something new.
“I knew I wanted to do something that was fun and family-related, not just for our family, but for other families as well,” he said. “We started looking family entertainment activities. The trampoline park concept just stuck out to us. It’s a great time, energetic and good for you.”
Pelletier said he originally began looking for opportunities in Greenville County. But the presence of two other competitors and the lack of competition in nearby Spartanburg led him to start looking there.
He said he decided to buy into the Big Air franchise because it offered support and expertise, as well as a range of amenities that other trampoline park franchises do not offer.

“Spartanburg just really popped out,” Pelletier said. “There wasn’t [a trampoline park] over here. The demographics are what we were looking for. We found that a lot of people from Spartanburg were driving to Greenville. This is a fabulous location right in the heart of Spartanburg busy west-side retail market.”
Pelletier said the store will include a ninja course, wipeout zone, main court, two dodgeball courts, a basketball dunk court, foam pit, rock climbing wall, laser maze, mechanical bull and air bags.
Construction crews will cut out sections of the building’s concrete slab so all of the trampolines will be at rather than above floor level.
The park will serve fresh pizza and other refreshments. Pelletier said it will be the perfect place for kid’s birthdays and other fun events.
Pelletier has signed a 20-year lease on the space. He said he plans to add more locations throughout the Upstate in the near future.
“There are a lot of exciting things happening in Spartanburg right now,” Pelletier said. “Right now we want to get this park open and establish a firm foundation. This is a great area. We’re especially excited about the new H&M store opening at WestGate Mall. There are a lot of great things to do on this side of town.”
Big Air Spartanburg will host toddler time from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. It will be open to children of all ages from 3 to 9 p.m. on weekdays, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday.
Pelletier said applicants interested in jobs can send him an email at dustin@bigairusa.com.
