Russ Williams joined The Southern Bank as senior vice president of Upstate commercial lending.
He is a 35-year veteran of the banking industry with experience in bank leadership, relationship management, loan production and credit administration.
Williams worked as senior advisor for Viking Mergers & Acquisitions. He also worked for several banks based in Greenville, where he was responsible for retail and commercial banking activities, servicing small businesses, and business development.
He serves as chairman of the Financial Stability Impact Council for the United Way of Greenville and is a member of the South Carolina Bankers Association economic development committee and JDRF corporate development committee.
Williams is a graduate of Davidson College in North Carolina and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
