National transportation broker Allen Lund Company has signed a lease for 5,600 square feet of space in the historic Borden building at 711 W. Washington St., according to an announcement March 14 from The Furman Co.
Allen Lund Company was founded in 1976 as a brokerage for transportation services with a specific focus on moving perishable goods. Greenville is one of 37 offices the company maintains nationwide.
Acquired by The Furman Co. in 2019 and starting out as the Borden ice cream factory, the buildings occupy 42,000 square feet and are being redeveloped into an urban office park.
Securing a tenant like Allen Lund brings the redevelopment project to life, according to Stephen Navarro, president and CEO of The Furman Co.
CBRE Inc.’s Blaine Hart is handling leasing for the project on behalf of Furman Development, a division of The Furman Co., which is handling the Borden project.
Commercial spaces ranging from 2,000 square feet to 15,000 square feet remain to be leased.
