Showing students and families the variety of high-skill career options available in manufacturing is one of the major goals of the seventh annual Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Night at Fluor Field, July 26.
Hosted by the Greenville Drive, BMW, GE, Michelin, Greenville County Schools and Greenville Technical College, the event is open to all K-12 students who will be admitted free. Students and their families can explore a number of interactive displays from numerous local manufacturing firms set up on the field’s concourse.
Gates open at 6 p.m. and the game starts at 7:05 p.m.
The event will kick off with a panel discussion and question-and-answer session on Fluor Field’s new District 356 entertainment space, moderated by serial entrepreneur and startup mentor Alex Estevez. Representatives from BMW, Michelin and Greenville Tech will discuss the range of career options in advanced manufacturing and engineering and how industries are working to meet the acute need for skilled workers.

The seventh annual Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Night hosted by the Greenville Drive will take place Tuesday, July 26, at Fluor Field. The event will feature a number of interactive displays from local manufacturers like those seen here from last year’s event.
Drive owner and president Craig Brown says the AM&E night is in part about “de-stigmatizing” perceptions about manufacturing careers and “igniting the passion” to pursue the wide variety of career options within advanced manufacturing.
“It really is a wonderful time and an engaging event,” he says.
