The Anderson Mall is in foreclosure, according to the Anderson County foreclosure sale list updated Oct. 4.
The 670,000-square-foot mall, anchored by JCPenney, Belk and Dillard’s, is owned by Washington Prime Group Inc. of Ohio, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in June citing declining revenues caused by COVID-19 shutdowns. Anderson Mall management has not yet commented on what the foreclosure sale means for mall tenants or the property, itself.
The mall is listed as a deficiency sale according to the county document. Bidding is open for 30 days.
