After filing bankruptcy and shutting down just before Thanksgiving, 2021, Laurens-based The Muffin Mam Inc.’s 100,000-square-foot bakery and muffin plant — and virtually everything in it — is up for auction.
Gordon Brothers, a Boston-based restructuring and investment firm, and liquidation expert New Mill Capital, are handling the online auction, according to a press release.
Bidding opens 11 a.m., EST, Feb. 2 and closes 11 a.m., EST, Feb. 9. An 18% buyers premium applies and local taxes may also apply without a tax exemption form. To register visit www.newmillcapital.com.

“This bakery is practically new and most of the assets were purchased between 2018 and 2020,” said Michael Guelfo, director, Commercial & Industrial at Gordon Brothers. “Given the continuing equipment supply chain issues and growing lead times, we’re seeing a heavy interest in the assets.”
