Founded by Jeffery and Joan Benore in 1994 and still family owned and operated, Benore Logistics Systems hasn’t just experienced remarkably sustainable growth over the past three decades — it’s also blazing a trail in more sustainable trucking solutions, and intentional partnerships are at the heart of that successful effort.
“We started as a small trucking company in Michigan, and first came to the Upstate because of Michelin; shortly after that, it was announced that BMW would be building their plant here,” says Dennis Kunz, vice president of revenue strategy and operation development. “We now do the majority of all supplier pickups to bring the parts to BMW… Their growth curve is similar to ours.”
Building trust through long-term relationships is what built the Benore name into a national brand, including the recent addition of public warehousing for the company’s non-automotive customers, with 600,000 square feet of warehouse space in the Upstate.
“A crucial part of what we do is understanding our customers’ unique needs, and the importance of their requests,” Kunz says. “For instance, transportation for automotive is not like transportation for a grocery chain. It’s very time-sensitive.”
Naturally, a reputation for hands-on, swift problem-solving came next.
“One of the things we pride ourselves on is accommodating special requests and finding unexpected solutions that support the bigger purpose of clients like BMW,” adds Kunz, noting that Benore has delivered special tools or assembled special equipment within hours all over the Upstate. “We still operate under a family-owned business mindset.”
And what’s driving those efforts — and its vision as a company — forward?
The promise of a brighter future.
“We have a big initiative on sustainability,” says Kunz. “We are the first trucking company in South Carolina that owns an electric battery Class-A truck. And we have multiple additional electric trucks on order to reduce our carbon footprint and become a more sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation provider.”
