A nationally recognized ice cream shop in Greenville has closed its doors.
Molly and Myles Ice Cream has closed its first location on North Pleasantburg Drive in the Cherrydale Point shopping mall.
The shop, which opened in 2018, closed its doors because the lease was up and business has been affected by the lack of movie theatre business since COVID, said owner Nicole O’Brien.
Another factor that drove the closure was the sudden death of Molly and Myles Ice Cream Co-Owner Steve O’Brien in August 2022.
Following her husband and business partner’s death, Nicole O’Brien said she found it difficult to operate both Molly and Myles shops as well as her Windy City Burgers restaurant in downtown Greenville.
While the flagship location has closed, O’Brien said the Molly and Myles store on Augusta Street will remain open.
