The Warehouse at Judson Mill will welcome two new tenants in early March, with Magnetic South Brewery and axe-throwing venue Stumpy’s Hatchet House set to open simultaneously inside the former mill warehouse space at 701 Easley Bridge Rd. in Greenville.
Magnetic South Brewery
Paul Cain, a lawyer looking for a new venture, founded the Anderson-based brewery with Tanner Coombs, a former sales representative with Vision Financial Group, and Adam “Cuzzin” Willier, previously the co-head of Thomas Creek Brewery.
Before opening its first location, the team signed three leases in Greenville, Anderson and Clemson, signalling their confidence in the concept.
“If anyone can do it, we definitely can,” Cain said.

Magnetic South opened in Anderson in September 2021, with the opening of the Greenville location set for this March and the Clemson location slated for this summer.
The name Magnetic South is a play on the term “magnetic north,” also known as “true north,” which refers to the magnetic north pole. Magnetic South, therefore, aims to be a reflection of a “true South” kind of Southern hospitality.
The 10,000-square-foot space, the largest of the three locations, will feature craft beverages of both light and dark lagers, IPAs, session beers and sours. Food will also be available for both in-house and to-go, and the space will offer amenities like arcade games, Pinball and Skee-Ball.
Stumpy’s Hatchet House
Stumpy’s Hatchet House is a franchise with more than 30 locations already across the United States, offering axe throwing with 11 pits total and rustic-themed games, such as checkers made out of tree bark.
The venue allows guests to bring food from local restaurants or order delivery. Guests aged 13 or older are welcome, with prices ranging from $25 to $40 per person. After 8 p.m., guests must be 18 or older.
The new concepts come as Judson Mill’s concert venue The Foundry recently partnered with Live Nation to bring in new musical acts across a wide range of genres to Greenville.
