The Perch Kitchen & Tap has signed on as the first food and beverage tenant at the Greenville County Square redevelopment of University Ridge, according to an announcement June 12 by project developer RocaPoint Partners.
The restaurant is the latest addition to the historic $1 billion project expected to transform one of the highest parcels of real estate in Greenville’s downtown and follows the March announcement of Whole Foods Market as the mixed-use development’s first anchor tenant.
Charleston-based Palmetto Brewing Company will partner with The Perch to provide the brewing portion of the restaurant.
The Perch Kitchen & Tap will feature 7,200 square feet of interior dining and kitchen space, with an expansive outdoor patio totaling 2,100 square feet. The restaurant is part of Chicago-based 4 Star Restaurant Group, composed of owners Doug Dunlay, Michael Dunlay, Derek Rettell and Josh Rutherford, who bring a combined 110 years of experience to the hospitality industry.
“On the heels of the exciting Whole Foods Market announcement comes a novel dining and brewery experience,” said Phil Mays, Principal at RocaPoint Partners. “Greenville County Square will host a unique variety of walkable retail and restaurants that add to the charm of the city, and we look forward to announcing more tenants soon.”
The restaurant will offer wood-fired dishes and an array of locally produced beers in a casual atmosphere.
Phase I construction is scheduled to start after demolition of the existing county administrative offices building.
