Koops Automation Systems plans to invest $10.2 million to expand its Greenville County operations.
The company has operated out of its 45,000-square-foot facility at 25 Brookfield Oaks since 2013. The new investment will allow Koops’ operations to relocate to an 80,000-square-foot facility at 120 Elcon Drive in Greenville.
With this expansion, Koops aims to serve more manufacturers and grow its presence in the automotive, life sciences and aerospace industries. The company will also create 26 new jobs in Greenville including:
- 12 engineering roles
- 10 skilled trades positions (electricians, mechanics, machinists)
- 4 management roles
“By growing our team and enhancing our capabilities, we’ll be better equipped to deliver the automation solutions our customers need to thrive in a competitive global market,” said Jeff VanUffelen, vice president of Koops Automation Systems.
Dan Tripp, chairman of Greenville County Council, said Koops has built a strong reputation for delivering innovative automation solutions that drive efficiency and growth across multiple industries. Approximately half of the Michigan-based company’s business is dedicated to the automotive industry.
“Koops Automation Systems’ decision to invest further in Greenville County is a testament to the strength of our business climate and the quality of our workforce,” Tripp said. “This expansion will bring new opportunities to our community and reinforce Greenville’s standing as a hub for advanced manufacturing and innovation.”
