Chestnut Coffee House + Market is now open in the Village at Hartness. The location was initially announced in November 2024, with the coffee shop making an opening announcement on social media Dec. 3.
“Our Hartness grand opening has been incredible. We are so thankful for the overwhelming support and all the friendly faces who have already stopped by. Thanks for making our fifth location feel like home from day one,” the post said.
Chestnut Coffee first opened in 2022 in the Verdae neighborhood in Greenville. Since then, it has added locations in Five Forks on Scuffletown Road, on Market Street in Clemson, East Curtis Street Simpsonville and now Hartness.
Each location has a theme, with the newest installation of the coffee shop offering a more European vibe with a French dining room table, sign and shelves. On the walls is blue and white accent wallpaper with antique mirrors, combining bistro elements with coziness.
Co-owner Brandi Ward said the decision to open a location at Hartness came after they were approached by the development and felt that its layout was similar to that of the Verdae location. Ward owns the shop with her husband Jon, and they share a personal connection to the development.
“[Jon’s] brother and sister-in-law’s engagement party was in the Hartness home, which is now the hotel,” she said. “And I grew up going to all the air shows there as a kid, so it just felt – it’s such a great, rich history of Greenville.”
In the Village at Hartness, the coffee shop joins interior design firm Diggs Designs, The One5 and a soon-to-come location for Wine House, A Retail Shop and Wine Bar.
