AC “Bo” Gossett III, president and CEO of Gossett Concrete Pipe Co., was awarded the Order of the Palmetto by Gov. Henry McMaster Feb. 13.
Outside of his work as third-generation owner of Gossett Concrete Pipe Co., he serves on various boards, including the Cancer Survivors Park Alliance board of directors, Clemson University’s board of visitors, and the facities committee of Scouting America Blue Ridge Council, formerly known as the Boy Scouts. He has also been involved in capital campaign fundraising at Clemson, and he and his wife, Donna, gave the college a $2.5 million cornerstone gift dedicated to its Division of Student Affairs.
“It was a tremendous honor,” Gossett said. “(It’s) one of the top honors of my career. Our business has been involved in South Carolina’s infrastructure since the mid-’40s, going back to my grandfather and we have done a lot of road (and) highway work. It was a great thing and I’m extremely proud to have been chosen to receive that award.”
Gossett Concrete Pipe Co. is located in Taylors at 900 W. Lee Road.
The Order of the Palmetto, established in 1971 by Gov. John West, is South Carolina’s highest civilian honor.
