Fountain Inn has launched its Relaunch Grant program, which will be facilitated by CommunityWorks, a statewide nonprofit lending institution.
Through this program, which is funded by utilizing money granted to the city from the federal American Rescue Plan, small businesses or nonprofits within the city limits may apply for grants valued up to $5,000 to support a variety of needs, including:
- Business pivots.
- Working capital.
- Rent/mortgage inventory.
- Utilities.
- Infrastructure development.
- COVID-19 related marketing expenses.
- Personal protective equipment.
In order to qualify for this grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Have a business located within Fountain Inn city limits.
- Have a current Fountain Inn business license.
- Employ 10 or fewer people.
- Provide documentation that shows the business has been operational prior to March 2020.
- Provide proof of economic hardship due to COVID-19.
- Not have engaged in any illegal activity per local, state or federal regulations.
Nonprofits applying for assistance must use the funding to support programming addressing community needs such as food insecurity, utility assistance and youth programs.
“While we launched our Main Street grant this year, we also wanted to honor the investments all our businesses and nonprofits make in our community,” said Fountain Inn Mayor GP McLeer. “In the wake of COVID-19, it’s important that we provide an avenue for all our businesses to access grants which help them relaunch and reinvest back into their work and continue their impact.”
