The Greenville Water Commission appointed Jeff Boss as chief executive officer of Greenville Water, effective July 1.
Boss has served as interim CEO of the organization since March 2023.
“After an extensive nationwide search, we are confident that Jeff is the most qualified candidate to lead Greenville Water,” commission chair Phillip Kilgore said.
Greenville Water is the largest drinking water utility in South Carolina. It serves more than a half-million customers.
Boss has more than 25 years of water industry experience and he first joined Greenville Water in 2018 as chief operations officer. He has led efforts to optimize chemical usage in water treatment operations and modernize system infrastructure, among other accomplishments.
“I look forward to continuing to work closely with the Greenville Water team and community to build upon our strong foundation and champion the next phase of growth and innovation,” Boss said.
The Greenville Water Commission includes five commissioners. Kilgore, Jim Bannister and Deb Sofield were elected to the commission. Mayor Knox White and City Councilman Wil Brasington serve as ex officio members.
