Foodies visiting the Golden Strip area will have another place to satisfy their sweet tooth.
Hughes Investment, the company developing BridgeWay Station, announced Jan. 10 the mixed-use development in Mauldin will welcome Old Europe Desserts this spring.
The dessert restaurant, which will occupy a 2,547-square-foot space on BridgeWay Station’s Main Street, will serve a variety of sweet, savory, vegan and gluten-free options.
Old Europe will carry between 18-24 desserts, including seasonal treats and macarons. The storefront will also offer:
- Coffee
- Wine
- Breakfast
- Catering
- Grab-and-go lunch menu
All of the eatery’s desserts will take inspiration primarily from countries such as:
- Hungary
- Austria
- Germany
- Italy
- France
“We have long desired a good bakery in the BridgeWay community – a place that can serve as a daily, familiar stop, or a place for special occasions where important memories can be celebrated. Old Europe Desserts is exactly that place,” said Hughes Investments Owner and President Phil Hughes. “We’re excited to partner with Bobby [Daugherty] on this new location, where we think his European desserts will be perfectly complemented by the European architecture and aesthetic of this project.”
Old Europe was founded nearly 30 years ago in downtown Asheville, North Carolina. In 2015, businessman Bobby Daugherty partnered with the original owner of Old Europe and in 2019, he independently opened a location in the West End in downtown Greenville.
