A new taproom will be bringing a wide selection of beers to downtown Greenville, with a unique interactive menu.
The People’s Tap will be opening early fall on the ground level of the Embassy Suites building at 250 Riverplace, right beside the art studios of Art Crossing that face the Reedy River.
The tap room will feature a variety of craft beers and domestic offerings as well, in addition to wine, ciders and seltzers, with an interactive menu that allows patrons to give feedback on the fly.
“With the feedback we’re receiving, those votes from patrons will affect a visual menu on the wall,” said co-owner Julia Belcher. “Guests will be able to see what the favorite beer on draught is right now, but also we’ll be able to take this information and adapt our menu to meet what people want the most.”
Women-owned

Julia Belcher spent years as a marketing manager for a Fortune 500 company before moving to the craft-beer industry. Co-owner Jennifer Lion worked for nearly a decade as a zookeeper at the Greenville Zoo (aptly enough, given her name) and has experience working in food trucks, restaurants and breweries.
Tacos and more
The tap room will offer a menu of small bites from the in-house kitchen, but the full menu of the nearby Papi’s Tacos will also be available. Patrons need only place an order and the food from the Papi’s Tacos kitchen will be delivered to them inside the taproom.
Plans for the taproom still need to meet approval from the city of Greenville’s Board of Zoning Appeals, but if met with approval, co-owner Lion said plans are to open sometime in September.
