As part of its efforts to expand service across the Upstate, The Southern Bank announced the opening of its new Spartanburg branch on Aug. 24.
The new location at 468 E. Main St. joins a branch in Greenville and one under construction in Aiken. It will also serve as headquarters for Southern Financial Corp., an affiliated holding company.
“We are thrilled to be opening Southern Financial Corp.’s headquarters and The Southern Bank’s second operating branch in the state,” said Jamin Hujik, CEO of Southern Financial Corp. and The Southern Bank, in a statement announcing the Spartanburg opening. “As a Spartanburg resident, I am proud of The Southern Bank’s ability to be a part of Spartanburg’s growth and continue our expansion into the Upstate.”
Renovations to the 3,800-square-foot building included a new facade, offices and meeting spaces, and a safekeeping room with deposit boxes. The new branch sits at the corner of East Main and Galbraith streets and features customer parking and a single drive-thru.
