Perhaps mirroring the plight of brick-and-mortar malls across the country, the Anderson Mall in Anderson crossed the auction block again.
The 670,640-square-foot building was listed on RealINSIGHT Marketplace and, by the time bidding closed the afternoon of Dec. 9, had topped $5.1 million.
Recently, the mall was sold at a foreclosure sale for $3.5 million to Morgan Stanley Bank of America Merrill Lynch Trust.
Mall general manager Al Dos Santos said he didn’t have any information on what the sale means for the mall’s future. Neil McKenna with RealINSIGHT Marketplace told the Upstate Business Journal he could not discuss details.
