Another facility is launching in Anderson County, and it’s a company many consumers have dealt with and not known it.
Pregis makes packaging materials and protective film to the tune of $1 billion in annual revenues and, on Oct. 13, held a ribbon-cutting on a 185,000-square-foot, $80 million extrusion plant in an event attended by Gov. Henry McMaster.
“The future is just as bright as it can be, particularly with companies like this,” he said.
Pregis president and CEO Kevin Baudhuin noted three elements that drew the company to Anderson County: It’s a hotbed of industry, it’s a region rich with talent and technical schools that will help hone that talent, and the excellence of local leadership.
“Packaging is more important than ever — such a critical part of our lives,” Baudhuin said. “We see it as explosive growth.”

The facility has already been running at reduced capacity, but it will continue to grow to full output over the next 12 months.
Jonathan Quinn, director of market development and sustainability, sees sustainability at the forefront of every conversation at Pregis. He said the facility will have a positive impact on people’s lives, enabling sustainability and creating jobs.
“Call it a growth rocket ship,” he said.
