A preppy, Southern-inspired clothing store founded in Greenville is now getting a new location in Camperdown.
Southern Tide will be moving from its spot at 200 North Main Street to Camperdown plaza. The store is expected to reopen this spring. It’s Camperdown’s first retail tenant.
Founded in Greenville in 2006 by then-college student Allen Stephenson, Southern Tide was sold to Atlanta apparel company Oxford Industries in 2016 for $85 million.
Camperdown is now home to the Mediterranean-inspired restaurant Paloma, the rooftop gin bar and restaurant Juniper, the Table 301 restaurant Camp, the speakeasy Press Room, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream, Starbucks and Insomnia Cookies. The fast casual burger concept Social Burger and Group Therapy Pub & Playground are also planned for the development.
