A new family-owned sports bar has opened in downtown Greenville’s West End.
The G.O.A.T. Sports Bar is the latest concept from Ana and Hector Batista, the culinary couple behind Sofrito Latin Restaurant & Bar, which is located right next door at 1021 S. Main St.
Offering classic American bar food such as burgers, tacos, wings, salads and sandwiches, along with a wide selection of draft beers, bourbons and specialty cocktails, the new restaurant aims to be the go-to spot for locals to catch all the games this football season.
The bar’s 16 televisions and Golden Tee Golf pair well with happy hour deals and a casual atmosphere.
The Batistas, both of whom hail from the Dominican Republic, bring decades of culinary experience to the forefront at the new spot.
All dishes are made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Typical items like nachos and chicken wings sit on the menu alongside more unexpected items, such as shrimp sandwiches, Tijuana steak bowls and homemade arancini — Italian rice balls that are stuffed with breadcrumbs and deep fried.
The G.O.A.T. Sports Bar is open Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
