Fountain Inn has gained a new watering hole in The Wine Fountain.
The Main Street space is cozy. Adorned with handmade live-edge bars of black walnut and cherry wood, it has a rustic feel. Owners Mitzi and John Workman finished many of these accents. John sanded down the cherry bar top, and Mitzi epoxied the walnut standing bar.
It is the product of a lifelong dream and a labor of love. Mitzi always wanted to own a wine bar and previously ran a traveling beer truck, The Happy Tappy Camper. When the opportunity to open a wine bar arrived, she jumped.

The Wine Fountain opened on Dec. 15.
“We were just overwhelmed with the number of people who were in here, so it was great,” Mitzi said.
Mitzi, originally from Simpsonville, explained that the choice of opening in Fountain Inn was due to the city’s quaint nature. She calls it a “Hallmark town.”
The back door backs up to Commerce Park, which the Workmans hope to open to guests next year with tables so they can listen to live music or have mimosas before shopping at the market.
The wine bar has a variety of white, red and rosés by the glass along with a beer selection. As for fare, it is currently serving small bites like charcuterie cups and paninis. The Workmans hope to host a wine club, tastings, and pairings in the future.
The Wine Fountain is located at 112 S. Main Street in Fountain Inn. It is open Tuesday through Thursday from 3 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 11 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
