Markley + Main, a downtown Greenville development announced in 2021, broke ground June 10.
The site is located at the corner of Markley and Main streets adjacent to Fluor Field. It will consist of two mixed-use buildings.
A portion of the development will encompass the Allen Temple AME Church. The church sold its community center parcel to SunCap for use in the Markley + Main campus. Demolition has already begun.

The development will include 277 residential units varying between 650 and 1,500 square feet, including studios and one- to three-bedroom floor plans. The apartments will include quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, balconies, patios and nine- to 10-foot ceilings.
The complex will include a pool, clubroom, rooftop lounge, EV charging centers, golf simulators, parking and co-working areas, with 10,700-square feet designated for retail space. Retail tenants are currently being considered.
The project is being developed by SunCap Property Group and Chicago-based Peakline Real Estate Funds. Move-in for future tenants is anticipated for summer 2027.
