Exterior design plans for Mill Village Ministries’ central hub in West Greenville have been finalized.
The nonprofit’s property at 1186 Pendleton St. is currently undergoing a $4.5 million redevelopment. Dan Weidenbenner, the organization’s executive director, said renovations to the building’s interior have been completed.
The city’s Design Review Board approved, with conditions, upgrades to the building’s exterior facades facing Pendleton Street and the east side parking area on Jan. 18.
Multiple improvements will be made to the front side of the building aimed at engaging with pedestrians and creating a sense of gathering. These include adding a deck, a new wood frame awning, staircase seating, window replacements, signage and planters.
Renovations to the building’s east side involve adding a new entry awning, replacing the overhead rolling door and integrating the loading dock with the building’s facade.
Two murals will decorate the south and east sides of the building. The designs for both will be reviewed by the city’s Arts in Public Places Commission.
