AG Freight LLC, a transportation and logistics company in Piedmont, has been acquired by Michigan-based Behnke Dedicated & Logistics for an undisclosed sum.
Behnke Logistics provides transportation, warehousing, distribution and integrated logistics services throughout the Midwest. Ben Behnke, CEO of Behnke Logistics, said acquiring AG Freight gives the company a foothold in the Southeast.
“We’ve been a Midwest operation for four generations and the Greenville market – with its manufacturing base and the inland port – is a natural extension of what we already do well,” Behnke said.
Calder Capital, a Michigan-based mergers and acquisitions advisory firm, facilitated the acquisition. The team at Calder Capital worked with Behnke Logistics to identify a transportation and logistics acquisition opportunity that would expand the company’s operations into South Carolina.
