Here’s a recap of the Greenville Board of Zoning Appeals meeting Aug. 14:
Approved: Rooftop cinema
An application was brought to the board to review plans for a rooftop cinema at the County Square redevelopment located along University Ridge.
An application for a special exception to operate after midnight was filed by McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture. The rooftop cinema will be located atop a seven-story parking garage and will be part of a mixed-use development with commercial, residential and office space available.
The application was approved unanimously.
Rooftop Cinema Club will serve food and alcoholic beverages encompassing small and larger bites along with movie-themed cocktails. The exact address is still to be determined but it will be located near Virginia Uldrick Circle. The cinema club will use bluetooth headphones to control sound and also plans to host silent discos and sports streams.
Deferred: Rey’s special exception
An application for a special exception to operate after midnight was submitted by downtown bar Rey’s, but it was deferred until the next meeting set to take place Sept. 11.
