The Wells Fargo branch in downtown Greenville is set to close Nov. 6.
The full-service branch is located in the Wells Fargo Center at 15 S. Main St. Wells Fargo will continue to maintain a presence in the building, according to a statement from the bank to the Upstate Business Journal.
No final decision has been made at this point as to whether or not the Wells Fargo ATM will close at this location. According to the statement, the bank is considering multiple options.
Wells Fargo closed 293 branches in 2023, according to S&P Global.
“Branches continue to play an important role in the way we serve our customers in combination with our mobile app, online website, and ATMs,” according to the statement. “We are opening new branches and investing in refurbishing our branch network. At the same time, we continue to optimize our branch footprint with as little impact to our customers and communities we serve as possible.”
Following the closure, the closest Wells Fargo for downtown customers is the Greenville Lewis branch at 1714 Augusta St. Additional branches and ATMs are located throughout Greenville.
