Halton MEI USA Inc., a manufacturer of indoor climate technology, is investing $2.6 million to establish its first South Carolina facility in Anderson County, the company announced July 23.
Founded in Finland in 1969, Halton will be leasing a 39,000-square-foot space at 120 Exchange Logistics Park Drive in Piedmont with operations expected to begin in August.
The move is expected to create 65 jobs.
Halton is a family-owned global company with customers in more than 35 countries. It designs and manufactures indoor air systems with many targeting demanding environments like marine and heavy industrial settings.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits related to the project. The council also awarded a $100,000 Set-Aside grant to Anderson County to assist with the costs of building improvements.
