Angelina’s Restaurant in Fountain Inn announced its closure on social media.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce we will be closing Angelina’s, effective today,” the post said, citing issues with the city as the reason for closure. The post also noted that a new restaurant will enter the space under entirely ownership, but did not give any additional details.
The restaurant went before Fountain Inn City Council June 12 to acquire a business license. The business had been unable to obtain one due to its preceding owner’s remaining hospitality tax debt. At the time, it was serving free samples.
Angelina’s was located at 610 North Woods Drive just off Interstate 385.
