United Community recently announced the expansion of its down payment assistance program and grant offerings to help people achieve homeownership.
Mike Davies, president of United Community Mortgage Services, said the bank believes homeownership is one of the most powerful ways to build long-term financial stability.
“These expanded programs reflect our commitment to making that dream more accessible, especially for families in communities that have historically been underserved,” Davies said.
United Community’s down payment assistance program provides up to $10,000 to qualified homebuyers for down payment support. The bank also launched the Equity Access Grant to help cover closing costs or final expenses. Grant recipients can receive up to $4,500.
In addition, the bank continues to grow its Possibilities Achieved Through Homeownership loan. Qualifying borrowers can recieve a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage that eliminates private mortgage insurance. To qualify, borrowers must earn less than 80% of the area median income and be located within the bank’s footprint.
United Community operates 200 offices across South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Tennessee. For more information, visit ucbi.com/mortgage.
