A longtime Greenville Indian restaurant has closed its doors temporarily as its owners search for a new location.
SWAD Restaurant & Store served its last meal on July 28 after more that 28 years at 1421 Laurens Road, but the restaurant is not closing for good, its owners said. The eatery is in the process of finding a new spot after its owner said they were “forced to relocate.”
“The building that SWAD has thrived in for the past 28 years has been sold and all the businesses in our plaza are forced to relocate,” the owners said in an announcement on social media. “We do not know how long it will take to find a new place to set up shop but we want you all to know that we aren’t giving up and we will be back in business as soon as we find a new home to serve our delicious food to you all once again.”
So far, the eatery’s owners have not announced plans but said they are “working hard to find a new place to set up shop and will let everyone know when we find it.”
