Rise Bakery has purchased its location in the Village of West Greenville after leasing since opening in 2021.
Owner Julian Loue said his intent was always to purchase the shop at the end of his initial three-year lease, which began in October 2021, though he retained the option to extend. He said it made sense given the cost of preparing the bakery.
“When we outfitted the space, I invested about $200,000 into the build out,” Loue said of the storefront at 1264 Pendleton St. “The electrical, the HVAC, the plumbing, you name it. I was like, ‘No, I need to be able to keep this.'”
Investments aside, Loue sees his purchase as his piece of the American Dream and a way to help build the identity of the Village of West Greenville. The Village of West Greenville Association has been working to rebrand the area as ‘The Village,’ and Loue is the association’s current vice president.
“We’re scrappy, right?” he said. “This is the go-getters neighborhood.”
Rakan Draz, senior brokerage associate at Trinity Partners, completed the sale and has worked with Loue from the beginning. Rise Bakery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
