Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina will soon open a new hardware resale store in Anderson County.
The nonprofit organization plans to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Retool & Supply Hardware Store on Aug. 26. It will be located inside the existing Goodwill location in Pelzer on S.C. Highway 20.
The new thrift store, powered by Ingles Markets, will be stocked with donated tools and hardware. Customers will find everything from landscape equipment and power tools to plumbing fixtures and home improvement items.
“Modern thrift shoppers aren’t just looking for clothes anymore – they are also looking for sustainability and affordability for their hobbies, trades and home renovations,” said Patrick Michaels, president and CEO of the Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina.

The Retool & Supply Hardware Store will join Goodwill’s list of specialty stores across the Upstate and Midlands. Last year, the organization opened a boutique and bookstore at Goodwill at the Trail in Greenville and a sports store in Travelers Rest.
Goodwill’s new hardware store in Pelzer will be open to the public starting at 9 a.m. on Aug. 26. The store’s normal operating hours will be Tuesday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
